A Message from Golf Tournament  Committee Chair, Sal Randazzo

Did you know that The Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry is classified as a public charity under Internal Revenue Code?  The Center relies on goodwill contributions, in-kind donations, charitable grants and most importantly the Annual St. Patrick-St. Anthony Charity Golf Tournament to support all of the good works of the Center – not your weekly envelope offerings?  Things like Catherine’s Place, the Mentor Program, the Wellness Center, the Sandwich Ministry… all programs that serve the needs of the alienated and the poor in the City of Hartford.  Last year the tournament raised critically needed funds of $65,000.

Please consider playing in the St. Patrick-St. Anthony 15th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. It's not too early to get your foursomes together and sign up for the tournament which will be held on Monday, September 20th at Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford, CT. Foursomes can also be created from single players and combinations of two or three.

Please consider one of the many ways you can help to make this year’s tournament a success.

• Donate items for the live auction, silent auction and/or raffle.
  • Tickets to concerts, sporting events, and theaters
  • Donate your services as a landscaper, painter or carpenter
  • Offer your summer home at the Cape or the Connecticut shore for a week or weekend? Give up a couple of seats at Fenway (Yankee Stadium? Shea?)
• Advertising your business in the 2010 Tournament Program Book
• Solicit an ad for the program book from a business you frequent.
  • All advertisers will be listed on the P & A website with a link to their site.
  • Sample tournament program books can be found at the back of the Church.
• Place a memorial, tribute or greeting in the 2010 Tournament Program Book
• Consider attending the dinner only portion of the Tournament Day hosted by WFSB's, Scot Haney
  • Live auction
  • Silent Auction
  • Raffle prizes
  • Great food and fun for all

The Golf Tournament Committee will meet on Monday, August 2nd at 6:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Center. Anyone wishing to join the Committee is most welcome to attend.
