Growing our Giving Trees out of Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. At St. Patrick - St. Anthony, we have a long tradition of expressing gratitude for our blessings by sharing them with those who have less. For some years, we have placedtrees in our church, tagged with gift suggestions for Hartford’s poor and atree for Global concerns. This Advent we will be focusing our giving trees on our time, talent and treasures. The Time & Talent Giving Tree is for those who want to offer their gifts of time and talent. Through our love of God and one another we find ways in which we can use our time and talent to share who we are with the people here in Hartford and in Zoranje. We can use our treasures to empower the people of Hartford and Zoranje to help and minister to one another and to give them hope for a better future. On the giving trees this year will befor you to share your time and talent by offering your prayers for a victim of violence, a recipient of our giving trees and many other prayer requests. There will also be an opportunity of your time for an upcoming event in 2010, like the Walk Against Hunger or Rebuilding Together Day. As always, our neighbors here in Hartford and in Zoranje need our support (treasure), especially in winter and in the Christmas season. As the world grows ever smaller, faraway dots on the map become our neighborhood too, and they call to us for help. The Local Giving Tree is for our neighbors in Hartford. This year we will be helping out the following organizations: Adventure Saturdays, Catherine’s Place, CT Children’s Medical Center, House of Bread and Youth-United for Survival(Y-US).The Global Giving Tree is for our sister parish in Zoranje, Haiti, St. Genevieve.
