Catherine's Place is a collaboration of the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry and the Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation. Catherine's Place opened in November 2004 as a "no-freeze" shelter. That experience made it apparent that there was a critical need for transitional housing for women in Hartford. Catherine's Place re-opened in November 2005 as a year-round transitional home for homeless women in recovery. Fifteen women, who may stay for up to one year, are provided living accommodations and meals. Case workers are provided for each resident. Area social service agencies assist residents in securing employment, housing, and other necessities for independent living.

- Toilet Paper
- Bread (white or wheat)
